These are delivered and assessed by Tabor College Tasmania Inc under the auspices of Tabor Adelaide.  The qualification is issued by Tabor Adelaide which is a registered training organisation, code: 4452.

A student may exit from any of the above Diplomas with the Certificate IV in Christian Studies after successfully completing the required modules which comprise this course.  See Tabor Handbook for details.

Several modules are common to all these courses during the first year of full time study.

The courses are not necessarily mutually exclusive.  For instance, Ministry modules are included in other courses, electives from one course may be taken in other courses and double degrees incorporating studies in two major streams are offered.  Most of Tabor’s bachelor degrees provide a suitable foundation for entry into graduate or postgraduate professional courses.

Ministry   Prospectus

Tabor Tasmania seeks to serve the Church and the community by providing high quality ministry education to prepare and equip people for various Christian ministry roles.  While the ethos of Tabor is charismatic and evangelical, no single denominational perspective predominates.  Teachers come from various denominations.  Students are assisted to broaden their understanding of various perspectives and to ensure that their own convictions are biblically based.  Tabor Tasmania is gaining increasing respect and recognition in various denominations as a provider of sound, balanced and relevant ministry education.

Counselling    Prospectus

Tabor Tasmania’s Counselling courses are designed to help Christians minister effectively in various counselling roles.  These courses have been developed in response to an increasing need for competent counsellors in today’s society.  The courses provide knowledge, understanding and skills to assist students to offer help to individuals, couples and families.

The Counselling courses provide an integrated programme of theology, counselling theories and practices, and counselling skills.  The Bachelor course offers a more in-depth approach in all areas and may lead into a number of professional or graduate courses.

Christian Studies     Prospectus

Tabor’s Christian Studies certificate courses are designed for Christian lay people who are seeking to grow in their relationship with the Lord Jesus and to develop a deeper understanding of their faith.  These courses are biblical, inspirational and life changing.  Customised diploma courses in this stream provide all these benefits and also offer the opportunity for flexible training in special areas such as youth, drama or selected denominational ministries.
